When I was younger I had my own opening for black and white. Turns out I was just playing the King’s Indian from both sides 😂😅

Our opening choices are so simpatico. I often got this by transposition playing the Van Geet with 1. Nc3. I’ve been playing the Ponzianni of late and …1 b5 vs 1. c4 The English, another gambit line you’ve covered. The Van Geet has lots of interesting gambit lines. And how about the Novosibirsk with1. Nc3 c5 2. d4. Van Geet played high level correspondence with 1.nc3

Can you do an Anti-Bird video? Would love to see the aproach an NM would take on it. Both classical Setup with b3 e3 and the Leningrad. (I got a good antidote against the Shankland line with b5, but would recommend it anyways)

Excellent video. Reverse openings certainly help cut down on memorizing lines & make finding ideas much easier

I don't like 1. c3 because if black plays 1. d5 after 2. d4 I don't get a Caro-Kann

Uhh yea he played over 90 percent for the reason of that white played a terrible opening using it and i dont Care if its a 3 minute game its pretty bad when you can lose 2 pawns right after an opening and you said the elos are what uhh no i dont have no rating and i dont lose two pawns like that quick in a game even against a 2800 in a 2 min blitz,this one is a no brainer

Ok so basically what I've learnt watching your vids is to play the fianchetto flanks, be it hippo, modern, piric, hungarian, English or whatever, it don't matter, so long as you know how to shut down your oppennents attacks,( usually the queen bishop attack to weaken the, kingside fianchetto),, then counter, your golden,& in blitz or bullet it's so much better than playing classical lines. Improved my chesss mahusively, thanks CG

A lot of Hippo games actually end up looking like this. After those first ten moves, things can quickly go crazy with the Hippo player at the driver's seat. And for such a "passive" opening, pushing pawns in front of our King at the correct times is actually one of the key attacking ideas in the Hippo. That, and never giving up our Bishops as long as they have potential.
